General Educational History
Graduate from Geneva High School, Geneva Nebraska 1976. Participated in football, basketball and track. Member of the1976 Class C State Championship Basketball team. Undergraduate education from Bethany College of Lindsborg Kansas. Four year letterman in football, 2 time all conference selection. Graduated as a Biology major in 1980. Attended National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, Illinois, graduating in 1985. Performed two year residency under the direction of James M. Cox, DC, DACBR in Ft Wayne, Indiana. Focus of study was on the research, treatment and care of lower back conditions. In 1989 established chiropractic practice in Lakewood Colorado. Attended Chapman University in Denver obtaining Masters degree in Sportsmedicine in 1995.
Teaching History
Began teaching on post-graduate faculties in 1987 and has currently taught for 10 chiropractic colleges. In 1989, began teaching for Red Rocks Community College on their Natural Science Department. Dr Aspegren taught microbiology and anatomy for 9 years with Red Rocks. In 2003 received appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr Aspegren continues to hold this position. In 2008 appointed to Colorado Department of Labor and Employment Division of Worker’s Compensation Guideline Committee.
Professional Sportsmedicine teams
In 1992 was appointed as one of the earlier chiropractors with the United States Olympic Sportsmedicine Team. Also, in 1992 appointed to board of ProSport Chiropractic Professional Rodeo program, overseeing the care of professional cowboys offered by over 400 doctors. From 2001-2006 member of the official sportsmedicine staff on the Professional Golf Association (PGA) tour. |
